What a week… I was so sad to leave Tanzania and my new friends there, but have found equally wonderful people here in Uganda. I have had a terrific first week…and lying on the sofa in the garden, looking up at the skies – moon is already out – I cannot actually express how lucky I feel.
Am so grateful to everyone who helped me, encouraged me and supported me to take this opportunity. As most of you know I am quite risk averse, so it was a big leap for me, but am so happy that I had the courage to do it!
Today I have made a full plan for the next three weeks and am so excited to be able to support the community here – in what I think will be a meaningful way! Will write more about the individual projects separately…
Anyway, HAPPY FRIDAY everyone, hope you’ve all had a fab week and looking forward to a relaxing, partying or interesting weekend!
My beer of choice so far here in Uganda is Club – a beer which can be enjoyed warm-ish (no fridges here!) and we have done just that as we are saying goodbye to one of the other volunteers this afternoon!
